Jim's 1987 Buick Grand National

This car actually came from eBay. I won the auction and the car was located in upstate New York. So I drove up with a friend and drove the car back. The car had 90,000 original miles on it. The car seemed fine, despite bald tires, so I drove it home with my friend following me in my truck. I had the car for about a month and drove about 1,000 miles. One day on the way to work, the car lost power on I-95. I pulled off and it sounded like there was a bucket of rocks in the engine. The bottom end of the engine came apart. I had the car towed to Jim Dunn's Shop in Secane, PA, Buick Turbo Performance Center. The block and the crank were junk. So Jim found me a 109 Turbo block and rebuilt it from the ground up. Read below for what was done to the car while at Jim's.

FRESH Turbo Buick Perf. Center rebuilt 109 Turbo block w/cut crank, 30 over hyper Pistons, Cloyes steel single chain, Stock cam, Recon stock turbo rods, Recon front cover w/ hi volume oil pump, Recon cyl. heads, Valve job new seals and LT1 valve springs, 009 Racetronix flow matched injectors, 009, 93 octain computer chip from Quad Air, New custom induction from Turbo Regal Custom Parts (Mark Hueffman), New cam and crank sensor(s), Stock transmission in need of a rebuild!, New Walbro 340 fuel pump and fuel pump hot wire kit from Ramchargers, Accufab fuel pressure reg., Passenger side K&N Filter, Hooker cat back exhaust system with cat dump pipe and electric cut out! (Man I love that thing!), Steel braided oil cooler lines

Some modifications I'll be doing for 2004 are three inch Mease downpipe, transmission rebuild, 10” 2004R W/Anti-balloon Plates 2800 stall speed Torque converter from Pat's Performance Converters, new intercooler streched 20 row, new turbo (haven't picked what turbo yet), plus lots of little odds and ends. As we all know, the spending never stops with these cars. I must admit this is the only car I've ever owned that I don't mind spending money on.
